Carrier serves as an educator on the relationship between origins of technology and the origins of women. This piece was made based on some research and reading on both of these topics. The full excerpt reads;

The Carrier Bag theory states that the first semblance of human technology was not the spear, a phallic weapon for domination, but rather some type of carrier bag, a feminine form and collector of resources for sustaining life. Holding, carrying and  moving. A vessel for knowledge, creators of life, a direct relationship with the fertile earth. A representation of Woman. Women used to be considered as these carriers in Indigenous and Celtic origin stories. Western origin stories painted women as disobedient, temptress, or in need of taming or controlling. Origin dictates our views and situations. The origin of technology; a container, a vessel, a holder, a carrier. The vase as a holder of water and life. Feminine in its shape and role.
